Marius Ötting is a postdoc in a project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) on detecting fraud in sports betting, especially in live betting markets. His research focuses on the development of statistical methods tailored to specific sports-related research questions. Current topics include betting markets with a focus on fraud detection, performance evaluation with a focus on the "hot hand", and the analysis of football tactics using tracking data. In the latter two topics, he collaborates with the S-TRAINING members Andreas Groll and Dimitris Karlis, respectively.
